Agrobazaar Malaysia Complex In Putrajaya To Open In February - FAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- The Agrobazaar Malaysia complex in Putrajaya which is being developed to provide market space for the sale of agricultural food products at much lower prices will open in February, said Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) chairman Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin.

He said the construction of the project on a 2.5 hectare site at Presint 4 took about a year to complete.

"The Agrobazaar Malaysia Complex which was inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak started out with the My Farm Outlets operating at temporary sites.

"To conduct business on permanent sites, this requires more orderly and modern retail channels using mainstream retail outlet trade system," he told Bernama here today.

Badruddin said the Agrobazaar Malaysia complex in Putrajaya would house about 100 FAMA entrepreneurs selling 15 types of food items including fruits, popular food products from each state and perishable goods.

He said 20 food trucks would also be operating at the complex where space would also be allocated for a 'My Dusun Park' where local fruit trees would be grown to allow the public to enjoy the fresh fruits from the trees.

In tabling the 2018 Budget last year, Najib announced an allocation of about RM20 million to develop Agrobazaar Malaysia beginning in Putrajaya.
