KPDNKK Melaka Receives Over 400 Complaints Of Online Fraud

MELAKA, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Melaka branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) has received 456 complaints regarding online fraud since January.

Its director Jaiya Abu said most of the scams involved the sale of apparel, electronics and sports equipment.

"We also received complaints about customers purchasing merchandise (online), however, when they receive the items, they were not as advertised.

"Users are advised to take precautionary measures by checking details, such as the pricing, and ensure that merchants are registered with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission prior to any purchase," he said after a seminar and Hari Raya do which was attended by about 120 staff of KPDNKK Melaka at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh here, today.
