KPDNKK To Cooperate With MAF, Police To Address Consumerism Issues

KAJANG, April 18 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) will work closely with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in a bid to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement.

Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said with its current strength of 2,600 KPDNKK officers and staff throughout the country, it was difficult for ministry enforcement team to be at all locations and address consumerism issues without the assistance of other parties.

"As such, KPDNKK wants to have a National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) arrangement with the police and the MAF to expand the cooperation further. Prior to this, we have an NBOS arrangement with the People's Volunteer Corps and the Civil Defence Force.

"Apart from that, we also need initiatives such as 'Friends of KPDNKK' to be our eyes and ears to flush out errant traders more effectively," he told reporters after attending the 45th KPDNKK Enforcer's Day at Kajang Prison College here.
